This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal data when you register for and participate in the walking month competition through our website and related services (together, the \u201cServices\u201d), including when you create and use a walking month account, connect supported device ecosystems to import step data, view leaderboards, and (where applicable) receive a premium package\/prize. Additional notices (for example, on specific pages or consent prompts) may apply to certain activities and form part of this Notice.<\/p>\n

Betfair Romania Development SRL acts as the data controller for the operation of the Walking Month platform, competition administration, leaderboard management, and winner determination.
\nLocal organizer entities act as independent controllers for limited operational activities related solely to participants registered in their respective jurisdictions, including prize distribution and local participant communications<\/p>\n

4. Why do we need this data<\/h6>\n

We need your personal information to provide you with the following services, under the legal basis of the execution of the provisions of the Walking Month competition Regulation, your consent where required and other applicable relevant laws:<\/p>\n

Using the Walking Month app:
\nName and surname \u2013 we need this data to identify you in the system
\nEmail \u2013 we use your email address to log you into our systems and to keep in touch during the competition and afterwards regarding competition results, fundraising results, and the implementation of the funded project
\nThe team\u2019s name \u2013 we need this data to identify you in the system
\nPhone number \u2013 we will contact you if there are any problems using the application
\nCountry of domicile\/residence – we need this data to identify you in the system, to enable registration for the competition and to award the prizes described in the Walking Month competition Regulation and those made available by the contest partners
\nThe company you work for \u2013 this information is used either to enable registration for the competition, to award the prizes described in the Walking Month competition Regulation, or for the competition between companies
\nThe selected package \u2013 for the delivery of the premium package
\nTime zone \u2013 we use this information to synchronize with the time zone of the IoT devices used
\nData on the number of steps or distance performed \u2013 to maintain the evolution of your performance and to determine your place in the competition<\/p>\n

Delivery of the Premium package:
\nName \u2013 name of a contact person who will receive the delivery
\nEmail \u2013 to identify you in the Walking Month app
\nPhone number \u2013 to contact you with details about package delivery
\nShipping address \u2013 to deliver the package<\/p>\n

Based on the legitimate interest of the operator in protecting its IT infrastructure for the operation of the Walking Month application and the prevention of fraud, in accordance with applicable law:
\nIP address \u2013 filtering and detecting internet attacks<\/p>\n

With your consent, we would also like to process the following personal data:
\nScreenshot \u2013 we use this information only for support \u2013 when there is an incident, you can send us a screenshot to detail the problem
\nBrowsing history \u2013 we share this information with our partners, as described in the cookies policy, to deliver personalised offers. More information can be found on our cookies page at https:\/\/walkingmonth.ro\/politica-de-cookies\/
\nScreenshots and browsing history shall be collected only with your explicit consent and shall not be mandatory for participation in the competition
\nYou may withdraw your consent for such processing at any time, and refusal or withdrawal of consent for optional data shall not affect your participation in the core functionality of the competition.<\/p>\n

Data on the number of steps performed:
\nThe Walking Month app reads the number of steps from Apple Health for iOS devices and from Health Connect for Android devices
\nParticipants whose fitness trackers sync data automatically with Health Connect or Apple Health will see their steps automatically appear in the WM app, should they grant the necessary permissions
\nParticipants whose fitness trackers do not communicate with Health Connect or Apple Health will manually input the values (number of daily steps) in the Walking Month app, as reported by their tracker app
\nStep-count data collected from Apple Health and Google Fit is used solely for participation in the voluntary Walking Month competition, including leaderboard calculation and winner determination for the purpose of awarding prizes described in the Walking Month Competition Regulation and those made available by contest partners. Such data is not used for medical purposes, health assessment, or participant profiling.

5. What do we do with this data<\/h6>\n

Your personal data is processed within the company BETFAIR ROMANIA DEVELOPMENT S.R.L., located in Romania. Your data is hosted and stored by Google, which acts as a processor.
\nInternational transfers: Your personal data may be transferred to, accessed from, or stored in countries outside the European Economic Area (\u201cEEA\u201d) (for example, where our service providers or group companies operate). Where such transfers occur, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by the GDPR, such as the European Commission\u2019s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, adequacy decisions.

Your personal browsing history data is transmitted to our partners, as described in the cookie policy. Please see the description of these partners on this page. All third-party service providers process personal data only on documented instructions and are bound by appropriate contractual and security obligations to ensure the protection of personal data.<\/p>\n

6. For how long do we keep this data<\/h6>\n

Your personal data from the Walking Month account will be kept for 3 years since your last account activity, based on the operator\u2019s legitimate interest and or other lawful basis in keeping users in-app for the following editions of Walking Month, as well as to be able to respond to any requests submitted by participants after the conclusion of the competition.<\/p>\n

Personal data from cookies is kept for the lifespan of the cookie or until you delete them from your device.<\/p>\n

Personal data included in financial and accounting records (or documents supporting those records) will be retained for up to 10 years in accordance with applicable legal requirements. Where Romanian law applies to the relevant records, this includes the retention requirements under Order no. 2634\/2015 on financial-accounting documents, issued by the Ministry of Public Finance and will not be accessed for any purpose other than the legal purpose for which they are archived. After 10 years, these data will be destroyed<\/p>\n

7. Participation Eligibility<\/h6>\n

Participation in the Walking Month competition is limited to individuals who are legally eligible to participate under the applicable laws and internal participation rules of their respective jurisdiction and organisation. The Organiser does not knowingly collect personal data from children in connection with the competition.<\/p>\n

8. Data protection<\/h6>\n

Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. All communication between the app and the server is encrypted.
\nThe user\u2019s health data \u2013 the number of steps \u2013 and name can only be viewed by the following:
\n\u2022 the user (name, daily number of steps, total number of steps, daily steps from the previous competition, total number of steps from the previous competition)
\n\u2022 team from which the user is part of (name, daily number of steps, total number of steps)
\n\u2022 all competition users (total number of steps for the leaderboard)
\n\u2022 Walking Month authenticated administrators (name, email address, daily number of steps, total number of steps, daily steps from the previous competition, total number of steps from the previous competition)
\n\u2022 We implement reasonable security safeguards to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction, in accordance with applicable law.<\/p>\n

9. Your rights<\/h6>\n

If you have reason to believe that any personal data we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the following rights:
\n\u2022 Right of access \u2013 you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you. To submit an access request, you may send an email to dp@flutter.com with the subject line „Access Request”, including your full name and the email address associated with your account. We may request additional information to verify your identity. Upon receipt of your request, we will respond within 30 days.
\n\u2022 Right to rectification \u2013 you have the right to request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. To submit a rectification request, please contact us at dp@flutter.com with the subject line „Rectification Request”, specifying the data you wish to correct and providing supporting information where applicable. We will respond within 30 days.
\n\u2022 Right to erasure (right to be forgotten) \u2013 you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. To submit a data deletion request, you may send a request to\u00a0dp@flutter.com\u00a0with the subject line\u00a0„Data Deletion Request”, including your full name and the email address associated with your account. Upon receipt of your request, we will confirm deletion within\u00a030 days. Please note that certain data may be retained where we are required to do so by law (e.g., financial accounting records retained for 10 years, as outlined above).
\n\u2022 Right to restriction of processing \u2013 you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data in certain circumstances (e.g. where you contest the accuracy of the data or object to processing).
