For example, a team may include participants from Romania, Ireland, Portugal, and/or Bulgaria, regardless of each individual’s chosen mode of movement.
The number of steps is counted only if it is recorded by a device, which may be:

• An Android or iOS mobile phone, provided it has a step-counting function and the operating system version is compatible with the Walking Month app;
• Any fitness tracker available on the market, as long as its applications do not allow manual editing of the step count.
The Walking Month app reads step count data exclusively from the two standard health monitoring applications: Health Connect for Android and Apple Health for iOS. The organisers process participants’ activity data (including step count and, where applicable, distance travelled) for the purposes of administering the competition, generating rankings, verifying results, preventing fraud and awarding prizes, in accordance with the Personal Data Usage Policy / Privacy Notice.

• Participants whose fitness trackers automatically sync data with Health Connect or Apple Health will benefit from the automatic step synchronisation feature with the Walking Month app
• Participants whose fitness trackers do not communicate with Health Connect or Apple Health will need to manually enter the values (the number of steps for each day) as reported by their fitness tracker’s app.

Accessibility & Inclusion

To ensure a fair and accurate outcome, the Walking Month competition will utilise, for each type of movement, the most precise available indicator (steps or distance), with the data subsequently converted into a common evaluation unit. This approach accounts for the real differences between movement types and fairly and equitably assesses and supports each participant’s contribution, regardless of their mode of movement.
Thus, mixed teams can register and compete, with a single final ranking that evaluates all participants using the same criteria.
In the Walking Month competition, participants’ wheelchair activity is assessed based on distance travelled, regardless of how the device displays it (pushes or steps). This method provides the most accurate and consistent measurements across different types of devices and ensures fairness in evaluating results.

The distance covered is converted into an equivalent number of steps, using the following rule:
1 km = 1.250 steps

For the purposes of this regulation, any reference to “steps” shall also include distances expressed in kilometres, which shall be duly converted into steps in accordance with the conversion mechanism established by the Organiser.
Steps achieved by walking are counted as such. The final score of a mixed team is the sum of the steps taken while walking and the equivalent steps resulting from the distance travelled by participants using a wheelchair.
Participants who use a wheelchair are encouraged to ensure that the device or app used correctly records the distance travelled, as this is the unit used for score calculation in the competition, and also to make sure their device or app is properly synchronized with Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), since these are the data sources used/ by the Walking Month application.
After the competition starts, all participants can manually edit the number of steps for each day. You can enter or edit the values for the last three completed days only once per day. Manually entered values will overwrite values obtained through automatic synchronisation when both methods are used. Participants must enter the values reported by their fitness band’s app, which will be compared and validated at the end of the competition if they win a prize.
If a participant enters or manually edits the step count for a specific day, the action is flagged in the Walking Month app system as a manual entry for that day.

This flag does not automatically imply an irregularity or disqualification; rather, it serves to ensure transparency and fairness in the results validation process.
For participants designated as winners, the organisers reserve the right to verify manually entered data by comparing it with data reported by the monitoring app or device used. They may request additional evidence of the recorded activity if necessary.
The situations in which additional checks may be requested are as follows:
• very large differences compared to the usual average number of steps,
• frequent manual edits,
• inconsistencies between the data in the app and the data in Apple Health / Health Connect
At the end of the competition, a team ranking is created in descending order by the total number of steps each team took. Prizes are awarded at the organisers’ discretion, depending on the resources provided by WM’s partners. The organisers will validate the step counts for participants who win prizes before confirming the prizes.
Participants may optionally compete individually or in incomplete teams of 2 or 3. These participants acknowledge that they will compete in the same ranking and for the same prizes, under the same conditions as teams of 4 people, with the ranking determined by the total number of steps each team takes, regardless of the number of team members.
Optionally, the organisers may decide to award prizes to teams made up of 2 or 3 participants; however, this is not an obligation.

Art. 6 – Registrations

Registration for Walking Month is done individually, by downloading the eponymous app onto a compatible phone and following the “Activation Guide” within it. The competition held in all locations referred to in Article 4 is open to participants who have reached the age of 18 by 04.06.2026 (inclusive) and/or persons with reduced mobility who use a wheelchair. With regard to the location in India, only employees of Flutter Entertainment India LLP, who meet the same age requirement are eligible to register, regardless of whether they have reduced mobility and use a wheelchair.
Participation in the competition is free of charge, meaning that the organisers do not charge any registration fee and do not derive any financial benefit from organizing it. However, for the registration to be validated and for a person to acquire participant status, it is necessary to donate to the partner NGO in the participant’s country of residence, in accordance with the minimum amounts established by the NGO. Such contribution is intended to support the selected local charitable cause and reflects the broader purpose of Walking Month in bringing participants together to stay active, build healthy habits, and make a positive impact in their local communities, while remaining separate from the competitive aspects of the challenge. The donation may be made through the Walking Month app or on the websites of the partner NGOs, if it is made during the registration period and is specifically designated as a donation to the partner NGOs of the Walking Month 2026 edition. Any donation made through the Walking Month app will be directed in full to the partner NGO, and the organizers do not intervene in the management or use of these funds. For the avoidance of doubt: (i) the donation is made to the relevant partner NGO (not to the organisers), (ii) the organisers do not receive the donation amounts, and (iii) the donation does not increase a participant’s chances of winning any prize in the competition, which are determined solely by performance and the validation rules set out in these Regualtion.
Participation in Walking Month and the opportunity to win prizes offered through the competition represent a reward provided by the organisers to participants who, by registering in the competition, wish to support the activity of the partner NGOs and consequently donate to them. The organisers create the framework for this fundraising, providing the registration and payment mechanism through which donations are collected, and using a specialised payment processor responsible for transaction security. The organisers do not have access to the card data used for payments or to the amounts donated. Payments representing donations to the partners’ NGOs are made directly to these accounts.
As an additional reward for participation, the organisers and partner NGOs may offer various promotional products to participants, depending on the value of the donation made and subject to stock availability, as per information published and updated in real time in the Walking Month app. All these items are gifts that remain the property of the participants even after the end of the competition. These gifts are subject to legal provisions.
Since the organisers and their partners cover all the costs of the products offered as gifts through the participation packages, 100% of the donations made by participants go directly to the beneficiary NGOs (the payment processor charges a fee, the value of which is covered by other donations from the organisers and partners).

Art. 7– Team Formation

Once they have registered for the competition, participants are free to form teams. The thresholds are fixed for the current competition and are communicated to participants at the start.
The organisers reserve the right to introduce additional Achievements during the competition, depending on identified opportunities, special campaigns, or objectives to motivate participants.

d) Reward Categories
To ensure fair chances, rewards are given in three categories:

• Walkers
Participants who do not reach the Superwalker threshold during the competition.

• Superwalkers
Participants who achieve at least an average of 25,000 steps/day throughout the entire month.
Each participant’s category is determined only once, after the end of the competition, and does not change during the event.
Example for calculating the Superwalker threshold (30-day competition):
25,000 × 30 days = 750,000 total steps.
Anyone who exceeds this total → Superwalker.
Below this threshold → Walker.

e) Visibility and transparency for participants
In the app, participants can always see:
• Current status: Walker or Superwalker progress
• Total steps completed and progress toward the Superwalker threshold
• Percentage of the total required
Example: Current status: Walker Superwalker progress: 612,400 / 750,000 steps (82%).

f) Reward system
Prizes are awarded based on the total number of steps and separately for each category.

Individual awards
Walker category (individual and teams of 4)
• 1st place – highest total number of steps
• 2nd place
• 3rd place

*Mixed teams composed of members from different Flutter locations are automatically excluded from this category

Superwalkers category (individual and teams of 4)
• 1st place – highest total number of steps
• 2nd place
• 3rd place

*Mixed teams composed of members from different Flutter locations are automatically excluded from this category

Walkers Category – teams of 2 and 3 members:
• 1st Place – the highest total number of steps

*Mixed teams composed of members from different Flutter locations are automatically excluded from this category

Superwalkers Category – teams of 2 and 3 members:
• 1st Place – the highest total number of steps

*Mixed teams composed of members from different Flutter locations are automatically excluded from this category

Mobility Winner
• 1st place – the highest number of steps/distances covered

Flutter Winner (only Flutter employees are eligible)
• Places 1, 2, 3 – Individual – the highest total number of steps across all participating Flutter locations
• Places 1, 2, 3 – Team of 4 – the highest total number of steps achieved by a team of 4 participants made up exclusively of Flutter colleagues, from at least 2 locations, not necessarily from all participating locations.

Team ranking
Team ranking is determined by the cumulative number of steps achieved by team members during the competition.
Teams with the highest total number of steps will be awarded.
To ensure fair competition between teams, the following eligibility rule applies for the Superwalkers category: A team is eligible for awards in the Superwalkers category only if all team members have completed at least 750,000 steps during Walking Month.
Given that a team consists of 4 members, this criterion means that a team must accumulate at least 3,000,000 steps in total (750,000 steps × 4 members) to be included in the Superwalkers category.

The team’s total number of steps is calculated by summing the steps completed by each team member over the entire duration of the competition.
Team eligibility and final ranking are established after the competition ends, based on the final data recorded in the app.

g) Important clarifications
• The award category is determined exclusively after the end of the competition.
• Obtaining an Achievement does not influence the ranking or award category.
• The threshold of 25,000 steps/day is fixed for the current competition and visible to all participants.
• The system allows for fair competition for both recreational participants and endurance athletes.
• Any request for clarification may be submitted within 5 days to contact@walkingmonth.ro. The organisers are not obliged to review the decision again.

All participants, regardless of whether they belong to a team or of the total number of its members, are eligible to take part in competitions that may be held online during the competition period and through which they may win prizes by random draw, in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the applicable regulations.
Additionally, all participants in the competition may also be awarded based on criteria other than their ranking position. Teams can be formed from the moment of registration, namely from May 12, 2026, 00:00, and until June 4, 2026, 23:59. To form teams, participants have the following options in the Walking Month app:
• Create a team, becoming its leader, and send invitations to other people they want in the team, knowing their email addresses; the captain is responsible for inviting the desired number of acquaintances to form either a complete or incomplete team; organisers will not add members to any team by random assignment at the end of the registration period,
• Join a team created by another participant by accepting their invitation,
• Request to be assigned to a random team through the Walking Month app; in this case, the participant will become part of a newly created team made up only of competitors who want to be automatically assigned. In this situation, the participant agrees that organisers may allow teammates in the new team to see their name and contact details. This repartition will take place between June 5, 2026, 00:00, and June 7, 2026, 23:59,
• Participate individually, in which case they do not need to select any of the previous options in the app.
Teams cannot be changed once the competition has started, except for corrections made by the organisers to ensure the contest runs smoothly.

Art. 8 – Prizes

The competition prizes can be offered either by the organisers or by the partner companies that choose to support the social cause promoted by Walking Month. Due to the specific nature of this contest and how it is organised, the number and value of the prizes are not directly controlled by the organisers. However, in Romania, they are announced through the following communication channels, namely:
• the Walking Month Facebook page (fb.com/WalkingMonth)
• the Walking Month Instagram page (instagram.com/walkingmonthro)
• through emails sent to participants registered for the Walking Month newsletter, based on their expressed consent
In the other locations, the number and value of the prizes will be announced thus:
• by the WalkingMonth.ro website
• through emails sent to participants registered for the Walking Month newsletter, based on their expressed consent.
Participants designated as winners will be awarded, based on the number of steps taken, at the end of the competition, from among eligible participants, according to the data reported by the Walking Month app and validated by the organisers, according with article 7. Additionally, the organisers reserve the right, from the prize pool provided by partners and with their consent, to retain certain additional recognition awards, which are awarded based on pre-defined parameters relating to participant engagement, progress, or other objective factors, applied consistently by the organisers. The purpose of these additional recognition awards is to encourage the progress of participants who do not become champions, but who improve their individual performance during the competition.
Certain partners of the competition may offer discounts and free products or services to Walking Month participants. As these promotions are intended exclusively for contestants, they (including the discount codes required to benefit from them) will be sent only by email to the registration address or to active accounts in the Walking Month app, depending on the organiser’s technical capabilities. Contestants who have not activated these communication channels will not receive these benefits.
Participants are required to claim these products or services in accordance with the terms and conditions published by the partners and/or announced on the Walking Month Facebook page. Any order for goods or services placed with a competition partner is not under the control of the organisers and is subject to the partner’s own business Terms and Conditions.
Individuals who win a prize are required to allow the organisers to validate the data entered during the competition, specifically the number of steps recorded, by providing proof in this regard (print screens) with their steps, taken in the days monitored by the organisers. If suspicions of fraud persist, participants may be summoned to the organisers’ headquarters for thorough checks of the step-monitoring device, namely the phone/application of that device, such as Apple Health or Health Connect.
The organisers do not have the right to manipulate the participant’s device but may request that the participant’s device display the number of steps. Only those whose steps are declared in the Walking Month system, and match the steps recorded by fitness bracelets or phones, will be awarded prizes. The organisers’ decision in this regard is final and cannot be contested. Prizes are claimed directly from the partners offering them, but Walking Month organisers will make reasonable efforts to facilitate winners’ access to these prizes.
To receive their prizes, contestants accept that a minimum amount of personal data necessary for prize delivery will be shared with the legal entities providing the prizes, such as first and last name, phone number and/or email address, delivery address, etc. Such data sharing will be carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Partners handle personal data in accordance with their own privacy policies, and participants may choose to unsubscribe from any further communications via the channels provided by the partners.

Art. 9 –Walking Month Companies Competition

The Walking Month Companies Competition is intended for legal entities based in Romania who choose to support their employees’ participation in the general competition by donating to the partner NGO, designated for Walking Month, through a sponsorship contract, and by contacting the organisers’ representatives to express their wish to participate and their agreement to have the company name appear in the rankings.
The Companies Competition rewards the company with the most active employees and takes place in parallel with Walking Month, during the same period and under the same conditions. In the spirit of fair play, and given the differences in employee numbers between companies, the number of steps per company will be calculated as follows:
• The steps of all contestants registered as participants from the company are summed to obtain a simple total,

• A “company bonus” is added to the simple total, amounting to 10% for every 30 employees registered by that company. For example, a company with 29 registered employees will have a 0% bonus, while one with 30 or 59 registered employees will have a 10% bonus, one with 60 registered employees will receive a 20% bonus, and so on. The simple total plus the “company bonus” constitutes the final total,
• The final total is divided by the number of participants registered from that company to obtain an average number of steps per registered employee,
• Companies will be ranked in the Companies Cup according to the average number of steps per registered employee.
For clarity, this calculation method only grants a bonus at the company level. This bonus affects only the ranking in the Companies Cup and does not affect the individual number of steps recorded by participants.
Participants who have registered through companies receive the same rights, including prize eligibility, and have the same obligations as other contestants, along with the requirement that their profile include the company name as communicated by the company, so that their steps can be counted in the company’s total. Additionally, these participants may form teams (or not) under the same conditions as other contestants, with colleagues from the company or with acquaintances outside the company. This will not affect the ranking in the Companies Competition: the ranking is based on the average steps of employees (including bonuses), not the average steps of teams of 2-4 members.
The organisers prepare a weekly interim ranking and, after the end of the Companies Competition, a final ranking, both separate from the general Walking Month ranking, using, in the calculation for each company, the steps taken by contestants who have that company’s name in their app profiles. The ranking will display the company name and the number of steps per company, without including the number of steps taken by each employee or their names; this information may be provided to the respective company upon request, in accordance with the consent given by participants through acceptance of the Walking Month app’s Personal Data Usage Policy / Privacy Notice.

Art. 10 – Participants’ Health

During the competition, the goal of each participant and each team is to take as many steps as possible by walking, thereby adopting a more active lifestyle for the benefit of their own health.
