When movement becomes a team sport: Companies’ Challenge 2026
At Walking Month, every step counts. But when thousands of steps are taken as a team, the impact becomes even greater.
In the 2026 edition, 44 companies took on the Companies’ Challenge, rallying their employees around a shared goal: more movement, more energy and more support for Educalise’s “Move for Education” project. Beyond the leaderboard, the challenge was about teamwork, motivation and the small habits that, day by day, help build healthier communities.
Whether participants chose the stairs instead of the elevator, went for a lunchtime walk or squeezed in a few extra steps after work, they demonstrated the meaningful change begins with simple actions repeated consistently.
Companies’ Challenge Rankings
Through the Companies’ Challenge, participating companies encouraged their employees to stay active while contributing together to this year’s social cause. The leaderboard was calculated based on the number of average steps per registered employee, giving every organization a fair chance to compete, regardless of size.
The results show what can happen when organizations create an environment that encourages people to stay active and work together towards something bigger than themselves.
Beyond the positions on the leaderboard, the true achievement was participation itself. Across dozens of companies, Walking Month became a conversation starter among colleagues, an extra reason to go for a walk together, and an opportunity to turn wellbeing into a team effort.
The partners who made the 2026 edition possible
Walking Month is an event organized by Betfair Romania Development, in partnership with Banca Transilvania. Together, the two companies cover all organizational costs, ensuring that 100% of the registration fees go directly to the supported cause.
Walking Month 2026 also benefited from the support of the Cluj-Napoca City Hall, as well as an extended community of partners who contributed prizes, experiences, services, venues, and promotional support.

We were also proud to have the support of U-BT Cluj-Napoca, Romania’s men's basketball champions.
Through prizes, experiences, venues, services, and promotion, our partners brought energy to the competition and helped the Walking Month community once again reach the same destination: positive change, built one step at a time.
More than a competition
Walking Month 2026 may have come to an end, but its impact will continue long after the final step was recorded.
It will live on in the healthier habits participants built over these 32 days, in the teams that discovered new ways to connect, and most importantly, in the opportunities created for hundreds of young people who will benefit from educational support.
Because sometimes the most meaningful results do not appear on a leaderboard. They appear when thousands of people choose to take steps together in the same direction.
